<image:title>Blog - 5 Tips To Help You Enjoy Your New York City Experience - Tip #2 - Never Carry Your Hotel Room Key In The Sleeve The Hotel Provides</image:title>
<image:caption>This tip is probably just as important as #1. I see this all the time, people leave their hotel key in the sleeve the hotel provides. They do this out of convenience, but what happens if you lose your key or it gets lifted like in tip #1? The thief now has the hotel you are staying at AND your room number and they will immediately go to your hotel room to clean it out. Tell me what is better, leaving your hotel key in the sleeve provided and getting robbed should you lose your key or asking the front desk what room you are in after showing some ID? I know which scenario I prefer!!!</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - 5 Tips To Help You Enjoy Your New York City Experience - Tip #3 - LinkNYC</image:title>
<image:caption>In 2016 New York City beta tested these wifi charging stations in select parts of Manhattan. Now they have gone full blown with a wifi station on almost every corner in Manhattan around the Times Square area and beyond and they have expanded this service to all 5 boroughs. So no matter where you are you will have access to super fast wifi service and believe me, I have tried it and it is fast and seamless as you walk around the city. Between LinkNYC and all subway stations having wifi access as well, you will always be connected. Just something to think about before you pay extra money to your cell phone provider to use your phone in the United States!!! Check out the coverage and everything you can do with LinkNYC with the webpage provided. www.link.nyc/</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - 5 tips for staying productive while working at home… - Have A Plan…</image:title>
<image:caption>I think the most important tip for working at home is to have a plan of action. I know this sounds simple but how many times have you set out to complete a project and then got distracted and ended up in a totally different area. Happens all the time to me (I actually got side tracked for 2 hours while writing this post because I didn’t plan my day and forgot about 2 webinars that I signed up for) so I adopted an idea that I discovered while doing some research online. It was the use of a whiteboard, now I have included a picture of mine so you can see what I mean. All you need is the whiteboard, A black Sharpie marker, an erasable black marker and post it notes. We are going old school here as no technology is required for this one. So basically you separate the board as follows. 1st column which will take up most of the space is your ‘options’ section. This area is for projects that you want/need to tackle, so fill it up. 2nd column is your ‘ready’ section, which can fit 6 post it’s that are moved from your options area as items you are ‘ready’ to start working on. 3rd column is broken up into 2 sections with ‘The Pen’ and ‘Today’. ‘Today’ is at the bottom of the column and for 1 post it at a time. If for some reason you cannot complete the task because you are waiting on some information, then you can move that project to ‘The Pen’ and start a new project while you wait on info for your previous one. Finally our 4th and final column which is ‘Done’ and that is for completed jobs. The feeling of watching your ‘options’ column empty out and your ‘done’ column filling up is quite satisfying.</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5c50e3cac258b4b213906e23/1586292815290-Y7FQ0HLRNKKNW8SP0XDC/exercise.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>Blog - 5 tips for staying productive while working at home… - Exercise & Nutrition</image:title>
<image:caption>I believe this point most people overlook and it can be an important one. I know when I am working at home I tend to get lost in my work and sometimes lose hours before I realize it. Working from home you have a mindset of comfort and everything is at your finger tips and easily accessible. This can put you in a state of ease and knock you out of your regular routine of eating properly and getting your daily exercise. Even if that exercise is just you walking into your building at work or heading to the cafeteria for a drink. The point is you are moving and in some cases getting some fresh air which can do wonders for your performance and focus. So taking a 15 min break and going for a walk (so long as you practice physical distancing) can do wonders for how you focus when you return. Also we tend to forget to eat when home and out of our regular routines, so be sure to make time for meals and snacks. The best way for me because sometimes i get so buried in my work that I set alarms for myself so maybe after an hour I will take a 15 min break or so on. Do what works for you and you will be more focused and productive.</image:caption>

<image:caption>If you find yourself struggling to maintain good work ethic while at home, why not try to set up a home office if possible. This office can have as much or as little as you like. The main takeaway is if focus is an issue then maybe you need to act as if you are going to work and have an area (if possible) where you can be hidden away from distractions. Pick a spot where you normally do not go so you are a bit uncomfortable. If you can, have a desk and chair set up for you to work at. The goal here is to try to make it like you are walking into work as much as possible to get you on the right track.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - 5 tips for staying productive while working at home… - Social Interaction</image:title>
<image:caption>This next point I thought of based on the responses of stay at home mom’s that I have heard over the years. The biggest pain point for them was having no adult interaction/conversation. When you are home day after day and your only conversation is on a child level with some brief adult interaction mostly created by deliveries or errands you run, it can get quite boring which leads to you feeling uninspired. The same goes for people who work at home but don’t take time out of their day (doesn’t have to be everyday) when they may be feeling down to talk to a friend. When you go to work you interact with different people all day long which keeps your mind stimulated. However at home you are dealing with the same people all day every day which can make a little social interaction a welcome distraction and quite refreshing. Try it the next time you are feeling out of sorts.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - 5 tips for staying productive while working at home… - Define Your Working Hours…</image:title>
<image:caption>This last tip is pretty important if you are working with a team, but also if you want to remain productive while working at home. If you work with a team having the same hours everyday will allow your team members to count on you during the times you have established. This way there is no guessing as to when you will be available and the work will flow better amongst colleagues when a defined schedule is followed. If you are on your own then having defined times will help to keep you on task and also be available during working hours for clients or vendors to get in contact with you.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Where were you?</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a tour organizer that had a trip to Florida by bus scheduled to leave on March 13, 2020 and about 2 days before departure, the news broke. I thought for sure my group would cancel so I reached out to everyone asking if they still wanted to go and every single group said YES!!! Except for one group of 6, but I still had enough people to send the bus and see what we could make of the trip.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5c50e3cac258b4b213906e23/1586201724468-KY8EWAWVMAN90214RTSJ/U.S.-border-patrol.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>Blog - Where were you?</image:title>
<image:caption>Now from the border asking us why we are travelling, to stopping in West Virginia to find out that they were one of the last 2 states (Utah) to not have a recorded infection. Wondering if we would be able to do anything once we arrived to some of the best places in Florida. Businesses were shutting down, restaurants were doing take out only. Everything was happening right before our eyes. It was like the world was ending with every mile that we drove. We didn’t see 1 single bus the entire trip as we usually pass many from years past.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5c50e3cac258b4b213906e23/1586202006943-38MZYLLIAHKZ2VUCK1YR/longroadahead.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>Blog - Where were you?</image:title>
<image:caption>The upside to a Pandemic is the borders were empty as most people from Ontario stayed home. So we were able to get processed quickly, we faced no traffic going down which had us arriving in Florida about 11am. We usually get there around 3pm, so that was amazing and because of the Pandemic, all our rooms were ready because everyone was cancelling their reservations. The trip down could not have gone any smoother from the time we left till the time we walked into our rooms.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Where were you?</image:title>
<image:caption>Now on our Journey down we find out that BOTH Disney and Universal Studios will be closing their doors on Monday. Good news is we left Toronto Friday morning and arrived in Florida Saturday morning. The bad news is the group would have to choose between either park as Sunday was the last day they would be open for business. They chose Disney hands down, in fact not one person chose Universal. Now I also sent Al Capone’s dinner theatre that we had pre paid for an email asking if their show was still on. They got back to me the same day and assured me that they would still be open for our booking. So at least we had things to do in Florida.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Where were you?</image:title>
<image:caption>So while all ‘bleep’ is breaking loose, we are making our way down to Florida where it is 30 degrees Celsius all week with little to no resistance the entire way. While everything seems to be falling into place in terms of what activities we could do, we only missed one event by moving around some others to make everything fit in.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5c50e3cac258b4b213906e23/1586202538422-V3243W07KDYEUPXIVXSS/canadian_border.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>Blog - Where were you?</image:title>
<image:caption>Now coming home was interesting because the day before we left (notice how the ‘bleep’ seems to hit the fan just before we leave…lol), Canada and the USA announced that they would be shutting down the land borders. Now we were getting messages while we were coming down to Florida that we need to turnaround and come home, the borders are closed and they are refusing entry, etc, etc. So you can imagine the messages we were getting when the official announcement came down that the land borders would be closed. However being Mr Calm that I am (I really am that calm, it is almost eerie to some) I refused to listen to the ramblings of others and put together my own info.</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:title>Blog - Where were you?</image:title>
<image:caption>All week I was monitoring the situation in terms of the border and what the current restrictions were, but only from Canadian publications like Global News, National Post, CBC and of course the CBP website. The biggest misconception was people coming in by land and people coming in by air. If you were coming in by air and presented symptoms then you could be quarantined and stranded in the country you are in. However if you are presenting symptoms and arrive at the Canadian border by land they cannot refuse you entry but upon entry they can immediately quarantine you if they deem it necessary. Once I read that, that was all I needed to remain in Florida until WE as a group had to leave and not one second before…lol</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Where were you?</image:title>
<image:caption>So to answer my question above…we were on our way wondering what to do in Florida and ended up having a fantastic week. So what were you doing??? Your answer doesn’t have to be as long as mine just answer in the comments below where and what YOU were doing?</image:caption>
